About This Training

Join our 3-day online workshop (July 11-13, 2025) to dive deep into the real meaning of sustainability beyond buzzwords. Understand how global politics, economic interests, and social power shape environmental policies, especially in Nepal's context.

Workshop Modules:

Day 1 – Introduction to Sustainability • Introduction to Sustainability: Explore how sustainability is more than just a "green" concept, shaped by political and economic forces, often reinforcing injustice.

Day 2 – Global Environmental Politics • Global Environmental Politics & Energy Equity: Learn how institutions and global actors shape environmental discourse, often sidelining justice. Also, examine how current energy systems are built on inequity and the need for a just energy transition rooted in fairness.

Day 3 – Dimensions of Sustainability • Environmental Aspects of Sustainability: Go beyond conservation to question the political structures that define "nature" and control environmental governance. • Indigenous Perspectives on Sustainability: Understand how Indigenous worldviews and knowledge challenge dominant sustainability models and center community, reciprocity, and justice. • Carbon Finance: Unpack the complexities of carbon markets, asking who benefits from offsetting mechanisms and how finance can truly support just climate action.

The workshop will be facilitated by leading national and international experts in sustainability, policy, and climate justice sector.

Workshop date: 27th–29th Ashad, 2082 (July 11–13, 2025) Platform: Online | 6:00 PM onwards on Friday & Sunday, and 1:00 PM on Saturday For Registered Participants Only Limited seats only!
